Emelie Palm
Inspired by playfulness my art is filled with colour and humour. Mixing reality with imagination; my canvas’s intent is to make you feel happy and amused.
Bella Powell
I am a visual artist. Minjerribah has inspired and infused my art, with its mesmerising scenery and beautiful colours, each season bringing new sights and experiences.
Amanda Richardson
I am inspired by the beauty and simplicity of island life when creating garments in my island studio.
Salt Water Murris’ Quandamooka Art Gallery
Salt Water Murris’ - Quandamooka Art Gallery is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation and is based at Goompi (Dunwich) on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island). Salt Water Murris artists are the storytellers of their people, relating individual and collective memories through their artistic works.
Jess Scott
Drawing from my connection to the natural environment, my creative process for textile design begins with the observation of patterns in the world around us—drawing inspiration from the ever-changing canvas of sand and sea, whether it's the sway of leaves in the trees or the intricate textures of coral reefs.
Julie Sisco
I am a photographic artist with a dedication to eternalizing tiny fragments of time, colour, light and shadow, aiming to transform them into timeless pieces that serve to offer solace, inspiration, rejuvenation and a moment of reflection in our fast-paced world.
Marty Smith
Photography is therapeutic for me and this is evident in the finished artwork produced capturing a combination of my response to the landscape and my emotional state at the moment when I create the artwork.
Peta Spence
As a long term resident of Straddie, most people will recognise Peta from the Point Lookout Markets where she has been selling her wonderful handmade creations for many years.
Helynne Springis
My keen interest in pottery started 2 years ago. A journey which I have been under the watchful eye of Liz Ranger-Craven from Craven Art. Being a sprightly 77 year old retired trained nurse, I have put my extra hours of attention and detail into pottery.
Straddie Brewing Co
Visit Straddie Brewing to view their pop up exhibition ‘Brewing for Biodiversity’ featuring works by 6 local artist that highlight 6 endangered species in Moreton Bay. The brewery also has 3 large scale art pieces permanently on display.
The Headland
The Point Lookout Headland is a sacred place. Since 2017, local Quandamooka Elders and community have been trying to stop the proposed development of a whale centre which would display whale bones on the headland at Point Lookout.
Karen Thurecht
Karen writes the Dr Hamish Hart Murder Mystery Series. There are four books currently released in the series with each set in a fascinating part of South East Queensland in the 1880’s.
Kaitlyn Townsend
As an artist, I am perpetually captivated by the vastness of the ocean and the intricate beauty of the natural world. My childhood in Goompie (Dunwich), Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), was enveloped by the serene whispers of the sea and the untamed elegance of the land.
Kathy Townsend
As a marine scientist, my art, "Island Gyotaku," merges my passion for ocean conservation with the ancient Gyotaku technique. Inspired by Japanese fishermen and European scientists, I create unique impressions of marine species on shoji paper.
Kimberley Townsend
Kimberley's artistry is a unique blend of cute and spooky. Her signature series, "Little Lost Ghost," features a charming ghost character placed in various environments, from the depths of the sea to the heart of the big city.
Jennie Truman
I am an island artist using paint and pencil to create images of my visual and sensual relationship with my island surroundings.
Amber Vicum
I have spent my whole life honing my crafts as a jeweller and visual artist of seeds, shells, precious stones, beach plastic and recycled treasures.
Lorraine Walker
My art is inspired by the beauty of our Island. I paint purely for the enjoyment it gives me.
