I am an emerging self-taught artist with multiple awards since I first began drawing and painting in 2020. I have developed my artistic practice and technical skill with patience and emotional connection that is obvious throughout my work.

I’m a potter and have been working with clay for about 8 years since moving to Straddie. I love creating large, functional ceramics for everyday and entertainment use, focussing mainly on slab building with an informal, imperfect effect. 

My lamps are created from my love of textiles that I have gathered from across the globe - ikats, indigo, barkcloth, ecodyes, European linens or just plain funky. My joy comes from teaming these with amazing bases.

Dr. Sandra Delaney is a Nunagal, Goenbal Ngugi woman whose arts practice represents a move to pass on language art and culture through stories shared with her Elders.

The Bowman family have been beekeeping on Stradbroke Island since 1978 using organic principles. Find an array of bee related creativity.

Shara Delaney grew up on Quandamooka country listening to the stories of her Elders. Her paintings are a reflection of her connection to Quandamooka Country.

I’ve loved Straddie for many, many years and have lived here since 2004. Living on this precious island beside the beautiful ocean is a privilege and a constant inspiration for my pottery and painting - two of my delights.

I am a 22-year-old mixed media artist and current student at the Queensland College of Art, based in Meanjin. My practice explores colour, texture, and botanical forms through a contemporary feminist lens. Rather than depicting coastal landscapes in a traditional sense, I am drawn to the overlooked details—fragments of flora, shifting textures, and intimate moments that reshape how a place can be seen and felt.

Megan Forward is an artist, author, illustrator, and writer who weaves together creativity, story, and sustainability with a deep appreciation for the interconnected wonders of the natural world. Working from her Manly, Queensland studio on Quandamooka Country, Megan creates picture books, paintings, assemblage sculptures, fine art prints, and greeting cards inspired by her surroundings. 

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of clay. The pieces emerging from these raw source materials and the alchemy of glazing and firing combine in a never-ending learning journey of shapes, textures and hues!

I am a contemporary jeweller and metalsmith. I create individually handcrafted pieces influenced by the changing colours, textures, light and sounds of the place where I live.

This is 9-year-old Goldie’s first year presenting her work on the Straddie Arts Trail. Her style is slab built pottery with a fun and practical design.

Reef is an 13-year-old Point Lookout local who has a T-shirt brand called, “six fish”, where his drawings are showcased. This year’s t-shirts will feature his new designs.

Sue Gray, a one handed stroke survivor utilises the medium of glass and ceramics to create unique island works.

As an artist I have worked with many mediums over the years (dress design, ceramics, clay sculptures, tapestry) and am now currently enjoying painting and resin art.

I am an artist with a love of nature, particularly the beach, sea and surrounds. So captivated by the sky with its amazing array of colours and shapely, colourful clouds that change moment to moment.
