QUAMPI’s inaugural exhibition ‘ngaliya ngajagu wagari (ours to carry)’, features artworks across various mediums and cultural objects by Quandamooka artists. Drawing from the QUAMPI Art Collection, Redland Art Gallery collection, and QYAC cultural heritage collection, this powerful display offers profound insight into the living stories and artistic legacies of the Quandamooka people. Salt Water Murris’ Quandamooka Art Gallery
Salt Water Murris Quandamooka (SWMQ) is a vibrant collective of Quandamooka artists dedicated to sharing the stories, language, and heritage of their people through contemporary and traditional artforms. Their work spans painting, textiles, weaving, and fashion design, often drawing inspiration from Sea Country, tidal movements, and ancestral narratives. By blending cultural knowledge passed down through generations with innovative creative practices, SWMQ artists not only preserve and celebrate Quandamooka culture but also create opportunities for cultural exchange, professional development, and economic sustainability for First Nations artists.
