Plein Air Painting Workshop at North Gorge - Saturday 31st August, 10am -3pm

Join Clare Purser for a day of plein air painting around beautiful North Gorge on Stradbroke Island. This Artist led workshop will include a number of exercises to explore ways of capturing what you see.

A focus of Clare’s current work has been Stradbroke Island and Moreton Bay. She is also an art educator, holding workshops and working as a painting tutor at the Brisbane Institute of Art.

You will be walking, painting, drawing and responding to what you see. We will be perching on park benches and the grass as we move around North Gorge so please wear appropriate footwear and bring something to sit on.

Details:

  • Workshop will be held at North Gorge. Participants will meet at the Gorge Walk close to Cooks seat and the cabbage trees

  • Please bring a collapsible stool or towel to sit on as we move around

  • Please bring your own paints (acrylic or gouache) pencils, brushes, palette & water container. Also a pad of 300gsm paper and your sketchbook

  • This is a 5hr workshop so please bring your own lunch and water

  • Workshop suitable to anyone however some painting experience is recommended. Ability to walk around the Gorge walk is necessary
