Gabriel D’Hage-Craig

iam: fine artist and graphic designer

Gabriel D'Hage-Craig is a Stradbroke Island-based artist whose practice bridges the raw energy of street art and the restless experimentation of digital design.

Beginning with charcoal drawing and printmaking while studying Fine Art at Queensland Collage of Art, he later completed a Masters in Interactive Media, shifting his techniques into digital forms without ever losing his strong grounding in traditional mark-making. Today his work moves fluidly between spray cans, paint pens, and drawing on canvas, as well as client-driven digital projects ranging from beer can labels to large-scale advertising campaigns. A background in graffiti and street culture runs through both sides of his practice, giving his work a bold, expressive edge built on simple yet striking contrasts of colour and form.

Inspired by a love of adventure, the ocean, island life, and the wildlife that surrounds him, Gabriel creates work that speaks to the rhythm and energy of his environment. Visitors to Second Sand Studio on the Arts Trail can expect to see live painting, a creative practice that thrives on movement, texture, and raw expression.
