Danny Horsford (operating as Currawong Fibre Arts), has been cultivating his skills in craft and the arts from a young age. Originally a classical musician, Danny shifted his creative focus after reconnecting with his Maori heritage through traditional weaving. Coming from a long line of weavers, Danny whakapapas to the Iwi's Ngati Porou and Ngati Whatua.

Danny enjoys blending his traditional weaving with other forms of weaving, creating a contemporary style. His focus has been on sustainable, eco-friendly, and wasteless weaving, foraging and growing the material to weave with.
