About

Join Moreton Bay based artist & educator Clare Purser for a relaxed, free plein air painting meet up at Dunwich/Goompi Bradbury’s Beach — one of Minjerribah’s most ecologically significant shorebird habitats.

This painting get‑together invites you to paint outdoors, and connect with the landscape that sustains so many migratory and endangered bird species. Bradbury’s Beach is a vital feeding and roosting site in Moreton Bay.

We’ll begin with a short introduction to Clare Purser’s practice and the influence of high‑conservation places like this one, then spread out to sketch and paint. No workshop structure — just a shared appreciation of art and nature. Bring your favourite materials (a sketchbook, pencil or small paint kit), plus a hat, water, and something to sit on. Local eateries and facilities are close by, and the Straddie Flyer is only a 10‑minute walk away.

Bradbury's Beach is a small beach located on Flinders Avenue in Dunwich. It is just a short walk from One Mile Jetty and the Stradbroke Flyer. We will meet at the beach directly across the road from Stop 11 - 23 Flinders Avenue.

Meet the Artist

Clare Purser - artist and art educator

Clare is a Moreton Bay based artist and art educator. Her work as an artist explores the fragile relationship between people and the environment, drawing on observation, memory, and material experimentation. She’s fascinated by the way landscapes hold stories—both personal and ecological—and how art can encourage us to pause and reflect on our shared responsibility to protect the natural world.
