About
The annual competition for the NSIGC Minjerribah Photography Awards for 2026, with $2,250 cash prize money, will run from 1st July to 4th October 2026.
The awards are held annually to create and spread awareness about the natural beauty and indigenous cultural heritage of Minjerribah, North Stradbroke Island.
In particular, the awards focus on the Islandβs bush golf course adjacent to Minjerribahβs sacred Brown Lake (Bummiera) about four kilometres from Dunwich (Goompi).
The competitionβs Open Section prize will honour Minjerribah elders and North Stradbroke Island Golf Club founding members, the late Aunty Margaret and Uncle Pat Iselin.
The major Open Section prize is the βAunty Margaret and Uncle Pat Iselin Photography Award β.
Margaret Iselin was a long-standing chairwoman of the Minjerribah Moorgumpin Elders in Council, and she and her husband Pat were instrumental in opening peopleβs hearts and eyes to the depth of Aboriginal knowledge and culture in the Island community.
