Each day, long-time island potter Elinor Drake will be working live, creating beautiful ceramic vessels using the traditional coiling technique—one coil of clay carefully stacked and joined to the next, slowly building form by hand.
Elinor has been part of the island’s creative community for many years, with a deep connection to pottery, making and the place she calls home. Her work reflects the patience and character of handmade ceramics, where every vessel carries the marks of the maker.

Meet the Artist
Elinor has loved Straddie for many, many years and has lived here since 2004. Living on this precious island beside the beautiful ocean is a privilege and a constant inspiration for her pottery and painting - two of her delights.
