I'm an underwater cinematographer, wildlife photographer and ceramic artist. I am inspired by nature and our island wildlife.

This year the Point Lookout Bowls Club is proud to be hosting 14 of our island’s talented artists and makers. For over 50 years, the Bowlsie has been the go-to spot for authentic Straddie good times and great company.

I paint landscapes, flora and fauna using palette knives. My love for painting started when I was 9 in a small fishing village in Penang Island.

I’ve lived on Straddie for 10 years and have enjoyed making art all my life. I am inspired by all the beautiful people I meet and like to use bright colour in my work. People have always been my favourite subject matter and I love to see each person come to life in my artwork.

My work as an artist explores the fragile relationship between people and the environment, drawing on observation, memory, and material experimentation. I’m fascinated by the way landscapes hold stories—both personal and ecological—and how art can encourage us to pause and reflect on our shared responsibility to protect the natural world.

I am a ceramicist working with both hand-building and wheel throwing. My work centres on functional forms - pieces made to be used and enjoyed every day - but I like to add a touch of whimsy so that each object carries a sense of personality and play.

QUAMPI’s inaugural exhibition ‘ngaliya ngajagu wagari (ours to carry)’, features artworks across various mediums and cultural objects by Quandamooka artists. Drawing from the QUAMPI Art Collection, Redland Art Gallery collection, and QYAC cultural heritage collection, this powerful display offers profound insight into the living stories and artistic legacies of the Quandamooka people. Celebrating more than 75 years of service, the Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club (PLSLC) stands as a proud symbol of community spirit, courage, and coastal heritage. Founded in 1947 by just ten passionate pioneers, the Club has grown into a cornerstone of surf lifesaving excellence and camaraderie.

Salt Water Murris Quandamooka (SWMQ) is a vibrant collective of Quandamooka artists dedicated to sharing the stories, language, and heritage of their people through contemporary and traditional artforms. Their work spans painting, textiles, weaving, and fashion design, often drawing inspiration from Sea Country, tidal movements, and ancestral narratives. By blending cultural knowledge passed down through generations with innovative creative practices, SWMQ artists not only preserve and celebrate Quandamooka culture but also create opportunities for cultural exchange, professional development, and economic sustainability for First Nations artists.

We’re looking forward to transporting you to and from the 2026 Straddie Arts Trail this August. You can either jump on our courtesy bus from the Cleveland Train Station, or park and ride from our dock at 13-21 Emmett Drive. Second Sand Studio is a love letter to the artisanal — a curated fashion and lifestyle boutique perched above Mulumba | Point Lookout, the most eastern point of Queensland. Founded by Clare Carroll and Tania Andrews, the studio champions slow craft, natural materials, and the independent makers whose hands shape every piece. It's a place to wander slowly, to try on something you'll treasure, to discover small-batch designers, and to find pieces made with intention.

Hannah is the creator of “Sassy Surf”, an emerging beach lifestyle brand. Inspired by long Straddie beach days and practical coastal living, Hannah designs custom-printed towels that transform into wearable wrap skirts through an adjustable rope-tie feature sewn into the fabric. Each print is designed by Hannah, blending playful coastal motifs with vibrant summer-inspired colour palettes.

We Savour disrespected “waste”, returning nutrients to the soil.

Our delightful Biofertiliser ferments fish frames, cane toads and food waste to develop beneficial microbes for healthier soil and to make nutrients immediately plant available.

I am a textile designer and artist inspired by patterns and the natural world. My work begins with pen and ink drawings on paper, though I also explore acrylics and mixed media to expand my visual language.

I paint landscapes and portraits. Images beckon me - they pop out and beg for paint. The phone camera is my constant companion. I scroll my images looking for the one that pops out, sometimes only a fraction of the whole image.

I am a photographic artist with a dedication to eternalising tiny fragments of time, colour, light and shadow, aiming to transform them into timeless pieces that serve to offer solace, inspiration, rejuvenation and a moment of reflection in our fast-paced world.

Visit Straddie Brewing to view their pop up exhibition ‘Brewing for Biodiversity’ featuring works by 6 local artist that highlight 6 endangered species in Moreton Bay. The brewery also has 3 large scale art pieces permanently on display.

Karen writes the Dr Hamish Hart Murder Mystery Series. There are six books currently released in the series with each set in a fascinating part of South East Queensland in the 1880’s.
