Point Lookout Surf Club
iam: Point Lookout Surf Club
We’re excited to be part of this year’s Straddie Arts Trail. Celebrating more than 75 years of service, the Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club (PLSLC) stands as a proud symbol of community spirit, courage, and coastal heritage. Founded in 1947 by just ten passionate pioneers, the Club has grown into a cornerstone of surf lifesaving excellence and camaraderie.
Perched on the golden sands of Main Beach, North Stradbroke Island, PLSLC holds the unique honour of being Queensland’s only Surf Club to patrol two beaches, a testament to the dedication and strength of its members.
What to expect:
Daily photography workshops led by international photographer, Tim Van Vuuren, along with a display of Tim’s breathtaking artwork
Wonderful works created by the children of Dunwich State School. The Hidden Art Show is a community art exhibition that features original A5 artworks donated by local artists, students, families, and community members. All artwork will be on sale for $20 each however the artist’s identity remains hidden until after purchase. All proceeds support Dunwich State School. Visitors can also enjoy raffles prizes of larger artworks donated by local artists.
We look forward to seeing you at the surf club—the perfect place to enjoy a drink, a snack, and some relaxed whale watching.
